The Swedish-Norwegian trio Ævestaden seamlessly blends long psalms, modern lyrics, pop tunes, and a fusion of electronic and traditional soundscapes, both polished and raw. Their second LP, Solen var bättre där, was released last year under the Supertraditional label.

Masterfully fusing the traditional with the contemporary, Ævestaden swiftly carved a niche in the folk music scene, capturing the attention of a broader audience over time. Their diverse array of instruments, including lyres, fiddles, kanteles, vocals, mouth harps, and the incorporation of timeless harmonies, alongside layers of minimalist motifs, crafts an expansive and atmospheric musical realm. The group's previous album, Ingen mere gråter, clinched the prestigious Folkelarmprisen award.
