Anna Makeev is a Mari singer who has grown up with the ancient and diverse heritage of her land. She performs folk songs in various ensembles and tries to combine traditional Eastern Mari songs with experimental Estonian strands of instrumental music, violin and flute. Archaic melodies, combined with original improvisations, captivate the listener with the folk music of the Mari, using a chromatic instrument known as the küsle, which builds a bridge between the music of the past and that of the present with its many possibilities. Anna's performance will be enriched by the presence on stage of the Marians Inga Pogonina and Vitaly Rybakov and the Japanese Sakiko Ishii.
