Aysanabee is an Oji-Cree singer-songwriter who went from growing up in Canada's far north, where he lived without electricity, to getting nominated for Canada's prestigious JUNOs and Polaris Prize. In less than a year, he has gone from the release of his debut album to being at the centre of his career. In 2023, Aysanabee made history by becoming the first Indigenous artist to reach the number one spot on the Alternative Rock chart on Mediabase Canada.

Moving beyond the generational work of preserving and transforming his grandfather's stories, Aysanabee explores new themes on his latest EP, Here and Now. This project delves into his personal experiences of the end of love and his journey of unflinching self-examination. Aysanabee transforms Watin's finger-picked acoustic foundation into a soundscape of waves that propel his voice forward. With sharper edges and a towering sound, Here and Now resonates with determination and acceptance. It encapsulates the essence of letting go and marks a significant evolution in Aysanabee's musical expression.
