DAGADANA PL, UA

Art Pop, Experimental, Folk, Jazz

For the past 15 years, DAGADANA has been exploring Polish and Ukrainian culture, mixing traditional Slavic music with every genre under the sun. Poland and Ukraine are neighbouring countries, both with Slavic origins. In exploring their roots, DAGADANA has found a multitude of similarities and differences between the two cultures. This has become their plaything and their latest album Tobie is full of wish songs, the oldest songs preserved in Slavic countries. These songs become vantage points for a joyful and groovy journey through fusion, experimental electronic music, jazz and art pop. At their best, the band's ongoing and omnivorous experiments are a cause for defiant optimism – if not in the world of politics, then in music's ability to surprise, to move and to forge new understandings. DAGADANA has travelled the world and played in 32 different countries. They’ve played in the Moroccan desert, the Forbidden City in China and at Glastonbury.
