Hailing from the tiny town of Viljakkala in southwestern Finland, Jesse Markin is undoubtedly one of the most intriguing and engaging artists in Finland today. Markin's music could be described as a unique blend of indie pop, rap, soul, R'n'B, prog rock, and African folk. In his own words, Markin approaches serious themes like love, xenophobia, hope, greed, loneliness, and brotherhood with honest interpretations.
Featured in NPR, KEXP, American Songwriter, Fault Magazine, Afropunk, Complex, Clash Magazine, and CQ Japan, Markin has toured all over Europe, playing captivating shows at clubs and festivals in France, the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Russia, Romania, Lithuania and Estonia.
Markin and his producer Totte Rautiainen are currently working on Markin's third album, which will see the light of day in the autumn of 2024.
