Sarma Gabrēna is a classically trained cello player, who explores ways of making music outside the academic framework and mixing it all together. She has been playing improvisational solo sets since 2019. Besides playing solo, she collaborates with other musicians and artists in the fields of performance art, poetry, installation art, contemporary sculpture, and theatre. She is also a member of the experimental noise-rock band Grab, and her sets have always been inspired by the wilderness and the freedom to change, not being bound by the rules of a genre and revealing new layers of creativity with each successive performance.
