António Pedro Ribeiro's vital and urgent septet, Sereias, makes guitar-driven music reminiscent of krautrock, post-rock and other styles capable of accommodating the band's tribal yet cerebral impulses. All of this is directed by Ribeiro's voice, which he controls like a stage actor; sometimes he mumbles, sometimes he screams, but always in complete command of the song, imbuing his eccentric lyrics with meaning.
