Trio ’95 is a piano trio created in 2003 that includes the pianist Rasmus Andreas Raide, violinist Robert Traksmann and cellist Marcel Johannes Kits. Having studied at the Tallinn Music High School in the same grade, they now all study in Germany: Rasmus studies in Karlsruhe (under professor Kalle Randalu), Robert and Marcel are in Berlin (under professors Kolya Blacher and Jens Peter Maintz). The ensemble took their first steps under the guidance of Laine Leichter and later Marrit Gerretz-Traksmann. Together they have also gathered knowhow from Francis Gouton and Alexandr Bonduryansky. The Trio won first place at the international chamber music competition Pavasario Sonata in 2012. In March 2020, Trio ’95 won first prize at the international Ilmari Hännikäinen chamber music competition in Finland. In addition to Estonia, they have also performed in Switzerland, Germany, Bulgaria, Finland and Lithuania. Trio ‘95 is the winner of the Estonian Cultural Endowment's Sound Art Foundation award in 2020.
At Tallinn Music Week, Trio ’95 will perform the premiere of composer Liisa Hõbepappel's work created especially for the festival.
