Vassvik / Silvola / Strype is an experimental Sami-Finnish-Norwegian collaboration in which traditional Sami melodies are developed into the avant-garde in a process of collective improvisation. Creative vocal expression blends with innovative guitar and sound design, where the past reaches out to the future. The postmodern audience is drawn into an unknown world, but the body remembers and recognises. What came before the birch-bark letter? What is in front of us? They put the listener in a state of mind where images arise. This Oslo-based trio creates magic as they play.
