Alex is a Senior Contributor at Tape Op Magazine, and a regular contributor to Reverb.com and Louder Than War. His writings about recording history, music technology, modular synthesis, gear, musicians’ advocacy, food, drink, and Nordic culture have also appeared in Fashion.Music.Style, Premier Guitar, and The Chicago Tribune. He has contributed to the books Patch And Tweak With Moog, and Pedal Crush.

Alex has organised and participated in panels at Roskilde Festival, Berlin Music Week, Pitchfork Music Festival, TMW, SXSW, HAVEN Festival, Copenhagen Psych Fest, SPOT Festival, Iceland Airwaves, and Moogfest. He has performed at or co-curated music industry events like Suburban Summit, and WIRED’s modular synth series. He has guest lectured at New York University and Ramapo College, is a voting member of NARAS, aka The Grammys, and sits on the Panel Picker and Innovation Awards committees at SXSW.

He is half of the synth duo TRIPLE X SNAXXX, plays guitar in the psych rock band Lacy Jags, and turns the knobs at Seriously Adequate Studio, in Carrboro North Carolina. Along with Estonian musicians Erki Pärnoja and Jonas Kaarnamets, and Danish Jonas Bjerre, (of Mew) he is part of Themes For Great Cities collective.
