Alona has been working in the music industry for almost a decade. Starting as a volunteer for the music festival, she soon became a programme director, taking care of over 100 acts performing on the biggest festival stages in Ukraine. She believes in the power of education and networking, having run music exchange projects in Germany, Holland, the Czech Republic and even in Kyrgyzstan. Together with a colleague, she founded Music Export Ukraine, an independent organisation that helps Ukrainian artists build international careers. Since then, she has showcased Ukrainian talent at professional events in more than 20 countries, lobbied for the needs of the sector in Ukraine and Europe, undertaken dozens of international projects, and become an expert in European funding and music distribution. And oddly enough, she still enjoys music!
