Arne Dee from the Netherlands is an all-round expert on live music venues and festivals in Europe. Since 2001 he has worked for several music venues in the Netherlands, such as EKKO (Utrecht) and Melkweg (Amsterdam) and as policy officer of the Association of Dutch Music Venues and Festivals (VNPF). In 2012 he founded his own consultancy office and booking agency (Dee Music) and festival (Nordic Delight Festival) in the Netherlands, with a focus on upcoming Scandinavian artists. Since 2013 he has also been working as a consultant for the European venues network Live DMA, being responsible for data collection and presentation of facts and figures of well over 3000 music venues across Europe.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, with music venues having often been in lockdown, there is more need than ever for actual data about the activities and income (or lack thereof) of music venues and artists, making the survey work of Live DMA more important and effective than ever.
