Heidy Purga is the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Estonia since April 2023. She is also a radio journalist, a producer and a DJ. Heidy Purga joined the Reform party in 2014 and was first elected to Riigikogu in 2015 and a second time in 2019. Heidy Purga has been active in the Estonian electronic media field for over 15 years, working in television and radio as an editor-in-chief and a producer. Since 2004 she was the head of the Estonian National Public Broadcasting radio station, Raadio 2. From 2009-2015 she was the head producer of the biggest TV music show Eesti Laul (local Eurovision preshow). Heidy has been a member of the leading front music scene in Estonia as a specialist for several years. As a DJ she has created a musical movement MustMesi (Black Honey). This is a monthly mash-up of soul, funk, disco, hip hop, and rhythm & blues taking place for over ten years. Heidy is joined by sensational live bands and the best local soul DJs who value vinyl and authentic vibes.
