MABE is a DJ and journalist based in Caracas, Venezuela. Her practice is related to technology and living in a world without borders. As a DJ, she draws on her Caribbean heritage and leans towards deconstructed club sounds. As a journalist, she tells the extraordinary stories of everyday characters from the depths of South America.
She is a sort of a nomad mutant living her migrant status to the full. A day in her life means working with different players in the music industry - with a focus on Web3 and journalistic projects. Since 2012 she has been part of the multidisciplinary collective La Sonora Destroy, now an electronic music label, between Caracas, Bogotá and Barcelona.. You can also find her spinning some ghettotech-electro-techno-dembow-changa tunes.
One of her life-changing experiences was being part of GRRRL, an electronic music collaboration of revolutionary women brought together by In Place of War, where she worked with Laima Leyton (Mixhell/Soulwax) to create a music and touring project that demonstrates how artistic creativity can overcome conflicts around the world.
