Viestarts Gailītis is the founder and manager of Skaņu mežs Association for Adventurous Music whose main task is to organise the annual Skaņu mežs Festival for adventurous music in Riga. Since 2000 Skaņu mežs has been organising also sound art exhibitions, one-off concerts, workshops, lectures, film screenings, concentrating on the everchanging topic of adventurous music.
