Mirrors For PrincesDE, UA

Alternative, Electronic, Pop, Rock

After forming in Europe's hotbed of hedonism, Mirrors For Princes – made up of Sophie Soraya, Hermie Gritz and Lonny Flowers – burst onto Berlin's local scene in a shroud of mystery, playing sweaty shows and winning a devoted following of young libertines and tearaways. The band's music takes its cues from the pioneering female-fronted bands that came before them, such as Siouxsie and the Banshees, Garbage and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. After winning the government's Pop Stipendium, Mirrors went to the UK to work with producer and mixer Barny Barnicott (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Editors) on their debut LP, What We Do With What Other Have Done To Us, which is due for release in 2024. From dance-punk anthems and high-octane power-pop to moody trip-hop drenched in ethereal soundscapes, the band's love of stark juxtapositions breaks down the barriers between pop and underground, nostalgia and futurism, irony and sincerity.
