The Southgates are an indie rock band from Oulu, Finland, consisting of 19-year-old musicians who want to bring guitar rock back to young people's ears. After releasing their debut EP in April, which got them a lot of radio airplay in Finland, they had a busy summer playing local festivals. They have evolved in the few years they've been around, from The Smiths inspired jangly guitars to what they are today. They recently released their flagship single “Citrus Tree”, which is heavily inspired by Blur and 90's Madchester bands with its distorted guitars and glaring synths.
