Abdoulaye KouyatéFR
After years of accompanying artists like Ba Cissoko, Mariama, Jain, and Gabi Hartmann, Abdoulaye Kouyaté channels his creative energy into a personal project featuring his original compositions. His unique sound merges traditional African music with contemporary influences, creating a captivating blend of deep, touching ballads, kora instrumentals, and Afropop rhythms inspired by coupé décalé, zouk, and traditional Guinean yolé. Like his father Sekou Kouyaté, a renowned guitarist who led Miriam Makeba's band in Guinea, Abdoulaye blends jazz, funk, reggae, and Caribbean music with his Mandingo heritage. His innovative style, which earned him the nickname "jazzman" in Guinea, ventures beyond traditional Mandingo music while honoring its heritage.
