Chung-Ching CHENTW

Chung-Ching CHEN is a virtuoso plucked string instrumentalist and composer from Taipei, Taiwan. A member of the Sizhukong Jazz Band and Spectro 7, she also serves as a part-time assistant professor at the National Taiwan University of Arts' Department of Chinese Music. With remarkable narrative depth and musical versatility, Chen weaves together diverse musical traditions. While deeply rooted in Chinese music, she ventures into jazz, Latin, and Brazilian Choro, continuously expanding her artistic horizons. Her innovative approach to the liuqin (Chinese mandolin) and ruan (Chinese lute) creates fresh, dynamic interpretations of contemporary Chinese plucked string music. Chen has performed over 400 concerts across Europe, North America, the Caribbean, and Asia. In 2023, she was selected as the resident artist for Taiwan's Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Spotlight Taiwan Project.
