Estonian TV Girls' ChoirEE
Estonian TV Girls' Choir is one of Estonia's most acclaimed youth collectives, which grew out of the ETV singing studio. The choir was founded and led by Aarne Saluveer from 1990 to 2004, and he continues to conduct it today. The choir consists of approximately 30 young women aged 14 to 20, most of whom have formal musical education and extensive choral singing experience. The repertoire interweaves sacred and secular music, folk music arrangements, contemporary jazz and pop, and large-scale vocal-symphonic works. The choir's development has been influenced by collaboration with many distinguished composers and conductors, including Arvo Pärt, Tõnu Kõrvits, Urmas Sisask, Pärt Uusberg, and Kadri Voorand. Veljo Tormis's works have been central to the choir's repertoire, performed both in Estonia and abroad. The choir has performed with Estonia's top orchestras and international conductors and has shared the stage with artists such as Imogen Heap, Ola Onabule, Tõnis Mägi, and Villu Veski.
Aarne Saluveer is an acclaimed choral conductor and music director whose work has significantly influenced Estonian music education and choral culture. The ETV Girls' Choir, which he founded, has become one of Estonia's best-known vocal ensembles, having performed successfully throughout Europe, America, and Asia, collaborating with renowned conductors and artists such as Eric Whitacre, Paul Hillier, Neeme Järvi, Eri Klas, Imogen Heap, and Ola Onabule. Saluveer has been the artistic director of numerous major music events and television productions and has conducted song festivals. He has received numerous awards and national honours, including the Order of the White Star, Fifth Class, consistently contributing to the international promotion of Estonian music and inspiring a new generation of musicians.
