HrayberyPL, UA

Hraybery breathes life into forgotten melodies from the Polish-Ukrainian borderlands of Galicia, where cultures intersected in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They focus on 200-year-old dance music that once filled village inns and shelters, where Ukrainians, Poles, and Jews gathered. Their repertoire features traditional dances like cossacs, cossachocs, kolomeykas, mazurkas, polkas, and tsiurylos, performed on instruments historically used in the region since the late 16th century. The melodies were preserved by Polish and Ukrainian researchers, including Oskar Kolberg's comprehensive monographs.
