Josefiina Vannesluoma delights with poetic chamber jazz. Artist of the Year 2025 at the Turku Jazz Festival, her nuanced vocals and live shows dazzle with ecstatic outbursts to restrained elegance. Her new compositions are in pursuit of timelessness, and the lyrics ponder a human's need to be remembered after their physical life. As Turun Sanomat put it: "Delightfully distinctive, modernly poetic and big-sounding beauty."

The lyrics in Finnish and English were created with the award-winning poet Milka Luhtaniemi, exploring the deeper experiences of existence through linguistic, sonorous, and gestural symbols. Vannesluoma is preparing her next album with her ensemble Mortal Lease in Chamber, including string quartet, harp, piano trio, and saxophone. The album is set to be released in May 2026.

Vannesluoma's debut The Mortal Lease (Flame Jazz Records 2023) received enthusiastic reviews and was nominated for the Jazz Record of the Year in the Finnish Emma Awards.
