Estonian flute duo Kuula Hetke (Kärt Pihlap & Katariina Tirmaste) creates elemental, improvisatory music inspired by the melodies and motifs of their ancestors' birthplaces. Kuula Hetke (word for word, Listen to the Moment) captures the sentiment in those deceptively effortless melodies, flowing with ethereal seamlessness. Combining two flutes, voices, and electronics, Kuula Hetke's transportive music possesses a unique storytelling artistry that draws listeners within and takes on different meanings for each individual. The duo has performed at festivals in India (Jodhpur RIFF), Latvia (Zemlika Festival), the Czech Republic (Czech Music Crossroads), as well as in their homeland Estonia (Viljandi Folk Music Festival, Tallinn Music Week). At the 2025 Etnokulp Awards gala, Kuula Hetke's debut album was honoured with the title of Debut Album of the Year.
