Rosettes is an eight-piece Helsinki band known for their genre-blending sound that mixes soul, city pop, R&B, and jazz influences with a DIY approach. Often called the "Khruangbin of the north," they draw inspiration from icons like Curtis Mayfield, Tony Allen, and Sade, crafting a distinctive sound that combines rare groove elements with jazz undertones. Formed in 2020, the band quickly gained attention through their video singles "Moon River" (2021) and "My Favourite Colour" (2022). In 2023, they released their debut 7" vinyl on Ultraääni Records, followed by "Souvenir/Green Ray" 7" on the respected Helsinki label Timmion Records, who will release Rosettes' debut album in April 2025. The band has played sold-out shows supporting Finnish vintage rockers Grande Mahogany, completed a 2024 German tour, and performed at Iceland Airwaves, consistently captivating audiences with their raw, collaborative energy.
