The Hungarian band Söndörgő, one of the most innovative forces on the international global music scene, blends the raw power of traditional music, classical sophistication, rock energy, and Bartók's pure musical vision. Formed over 25 years ago when its members were still children, the band has grown together organically. Four of the five musicians come from the same musical family, with their artistic foundation built on the legacy of the legendary Vujicsics Ensemble, including their father, uncle, and other Eredics musicians. Their latest album Gyezz, released in June 2024 on GroundUP Music, features acclaimed jazz saxophonist Chris Potter. The album seamlessly combines composed pieces with free improvisation, representing a significant evolution in their musical journey. Gyezz reached #1 on both WMCE and Songlines TOTW charts and received widespread critical praise.
