Sounds and Stories from Ruhnu IslandEE

This interdisciplinary project explores the rich cultural traditions of Ruhnu Island through music and visual storytelling. Swedish Estonian heritage lost after World War II is brought to new life with the sound of fiddles, voices and storytelling. The album Echoes of the Sea marks the 80th anniversary of the 1944 exodus when the island's inhabitants fled to Sweden, leaving behind centuries of local culture. The project includes videos combining contemporary footage from island expeditions with archival materials.
