The Ukrainian-Estonian ensemble Svjata Vatra (Holy Fire) plays traditional folk songs with a punk attitude, combining bagpipes, jew's harp, and distinctive vocals with modern trombone arrangements to create a unique contemporary sound. Since 2006, the band has been connecting cultures and audiences across 23 countries through their dynamic performances. They have appeared at major festivals including Colours of Ostrava, FelSziget, Positivus, Urkult, London IFEM, Kaustinen, and Viljandi Folk. Their song "Pane mind põlema" ("Light My Fire") was featured in the 2017 American television series Seal Team. The group has showcased at Budapest Ritmo, Tallinn Music Week, Eurosonic, and Folk Alliance, and received the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cultural Award in 2022. In the current global context, Svjata Vatra's performances have taken on new emotional depth as they continue to advocate for peace through their music.
