The MESFI

The MES are a young, fuzzy, and nasty garage punk/surf rock outfit from Helsinki, Finland. Their music blends angry yet slightly trippy modern garage punk and new wave sounds with elements from classic ’60s and early ’90s instrumental surf rock bands. Fast, pummeling drum beats meet paranormal reverberations and vintage Italian combo organs. Beneath their loud and aggressive exterior, you can hear influences from traditional Finnish rautalanka music. The MES have self-released three EPs, and their debut full-length album, Evil Echo and a Deaf Mind, was released in the spring of 2024.
