Choral, Classical, Contemporary Classical

Ellerhein Girls' ChoirEE

Founded in 1951, the Ellerhein Girls' Choir is one of Estonia's most distinguished ensembles, led since 2012 by Chief Conductor Ingrid Kõrvits. Ellerhein's repertoire spans both classical choral music and contemporary compositions; the choir is a highly valued partner for renowned conductors like Paavo Järvi, Tõnu Kaljuste and Olari Elts as well as professional ensembles and orchestras.

Their high international standing is marked by a Grammy Award (2004) and recent Grand Prix wins in Gdańsk (2019) and Lisbon (2023). Through active touring and recordings, Ellerhein (part of Tallinn Kullo Hobby Centre) continues to promote Estonian choral culture from Europe to Japan and the USA. The concert programme is built upon a dialogue between different generations of Estonian composers. Alongside works by the legendary figures of choral music—Veljo Tormis, Arvo Pärt, and Urmas Sisask—the choir will perform two world premières by Mariliis Valkonen and Kristo Matson.

The concert is presented by the Estonian Music Days Festival.
