Ghosts on TVFI
Ghosts on TV conjures overwhelming walls of sound, blissful melodies, and minimalist melancholy. Founded in Helsinki, Finland, in 2013 by a group of then only 16-year-old friends, the band has been described as "rare and wistful post-rock" (YleX, radio station), "as a lesson in how to write alternative pop" (Monolith Cocktail), and as "beautiful shoegaze" (Soundi, Finland's biggest music magazine).
The band's recent studio album, the self-titled Ghosts on TV (2023), was named "Album of the Week" by Radio Helsinki. Their debut, the unexpected 30-minute instrumental I Am Not Dead, I Am 55 Today, was chosen as Nordic Music Review's Best Nordic Album of 2020. The hypnotic repetition and wrenching crescendos of the work even earned it a four-star review from Finland's biggest metal magazine, Inferno. After the record, Ghosts on TV signed with a Finnish indie label, Soliti. This spring, Ghosts on TV will release new music and play at The New Colossus festival in New York.
