OLIOTRONIX performs interactive improvised noise dance sets on a custom-built instrument blasting 8-bit, glitch, beats, and sounds, telling an abstract story that is for the audience to decipher. Technical difficulties, failure, and error are turned into a circus-bent breakcore moshpit. Either on stage or on the floor with the people, the audience is encouraged to get involved too. Since 2006, Olio has been DJing in their hometown, Tallinn, throwing 8-bit/eclectic nights. In 2012 in London, they started a club night Gleeetch as a counter-culture initiative, as a passion to DJing, exploring various hardware and audio-visual hacking, and as a platform for anyone to collaborate, create, and support autonomous spaces. Current residency: Leipzig. Primary activities: performances, circuit-bending workshops, DIY events with newly formed collectives and projects: Top Cats, Blastrokätz, Gaylienz, and more cats of all kinds.
