Breaking Bach - Marigó Trio! ES

Carles Marigó is a pianist, composer, and improviser from Spain, recognised for bridging classical music with improvisation, flamenco, jazz, and rhythm-based musical traditions. Trained in classical piano at ESMUC (Barcelona) and the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, his work is rooted in tradition and expanded through experimentation, rhythm, and live creation.

One of his main projects is Breaking Bach, a trio with percussionist David Domínguez and double bassist Manel Fortià. The project offers a bold reinterpretation of J. S. Bach's music through flamenco rhythms, groove, and improvisation. Written material and free improvisation coexist, allowing Bach's language to dialogue with jazz and experimental music in a live and organic way.

Breaking Bach has been presented at festivals and venues such as Bachcelona Festival, CaixaForum, Jamboree, and Festival de Música de Canarias, receiving strong critical acclaim. Marigó's work has been broadcast on BBC, WDR, RTVE, TV3, and Catalunya Música.
