CERESIAN VALOT (Eng. “Lights of Ceresia”) was founded in Jyväskylä, Finland in 2020 by four members of the now disbanded Finnish metal band Ghost Brigade; Tapio Vartiainen, Veli-Matti Suihkonen, Joni Vanhanen and both bands’ main songwriter Wille Naukkarinen. The line-up was completed by bassist Ville Angervuori (Manifesto Jukebox, Deathbed) and lead vocalist Panu Perkiömäki (Seed Husk). IN 2024, Ceresian Valot signed a multi-album deal with Prophecy Productions, the home of Dool, In The Woods... and Alcest among others. THE BAND’S debut album ”Uumen” (Eng. “Depths”) was released in May 2025. The seven-track album gained enthusiastic reviews in the press, including perfect scores in Finland’s biggest online magazine for alternative music, Kaaoszine, as well as French Metallian Magazine. Progressive Music Planet called the album “a killer debut” and “one of the best releases of 2025 thus far”. The album debuted at #5 on The Official Finnish Physical Album Charts, the highest position for all band members to date. CERESIAN VALOT operates with a strong DIY-ethos as the band handles production, recording, mixing, mastering and design themselves. THE BAND’S sound has been described as melancholic alternative metal with cinematic atmosphere. The music is also influenced by progressive rock, post-metal, doom and trip hop. The vocals are all sung in their native language, Finnish. CERESIAN VALOT played their first live show in September 2025 at Off Road Festival and have continued playing one-off shows in their home country ever since. The band is set to enter the studio in January 2026 to record their yet untitled, sophomore album.
