Experimental, Industrial, Noise, Psychedelic
Erik AlaloogaEE
Erik Alalooga is a Tallinn-based sound and installation artist and experimental musician, known for his use of analogue technology in his works. Mechanical sound instruments, powered by either electric motors or the human body, create unique industrial sound patterns. Alalooga does not use recordings. The entire sound space is created on site using self-made sound machines, processed with electronic effects in real time. When composing his performances, he uses so-called machine logic, combining long repetitions into softer psychedelia or harsher pulsating sound masses. He defines himself as a practitioner of psychedelic noise and new industrial style. His performances are characterised by a strong visual element created by moving machines, light and shadows, and projections. He has performed with his mechanical music machines in the Baltic and Nordic countries, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, the Czech Republic, and Italy.
