JATHBTN

From the sacred land of a thousand saints, rooted in Sufi ceremonies, comes JATHB, a Tunisian duo creating a unique sonic ritual with their album WILLIA. The word "WILLIA" means "saints" in Tunisian and serves as an invocation to Sufi masters and ancestors. Their sound blends Sufi trance with analogue machines, modular synths, and North African rhythms, flowing between ambient soundscapes and ecstatic energy.

Mariem embodies the timeless ancestral voice, whilst Mohamed represents the future and the machine's spirit. Together, they unite past and future in a ritual at the crossroads of the present. The duo also plays handmade native instruments they craft themselves, reflecting a calling towards unity and oneness. This makes WILLIA a living ritual of remembrance, unity, and transformation. Some call it avant-garde, dark electro folk, neo-Sufi, or dark wave, but JATHB believes their music defies categorisation. For them, it is an esoteric sonic initiation where time dissolves and portals open.
