Performing Latvian-language versions of traditional songs alongside original compositions, Alum Alu crafts a dynamic border-defying blend of high-energy rock 'n' roll whilst maintaining a deep respect for the traditional nature of their songs.

Since 2020, Alum Alu have established themselves as one of Rīga's most exciting acts, playing on stages around the whole of Latvia and neighbouring countries. Their debut album dropped in May 2023, with the single "Ļeņingradas Pagrabā" debuting at number 2 on Latvia's alternative music chart before climbing to number 1, where it stayed for six weeks. Building on this, Alum Alu had notable appearances in 2024 as support for Oranžās Brīvdienas on their 24th anniversary tour, the closing performance on the main stage of Valmiermuižas Etnomūzikas Festivāls, and a short Estonia tour. Their recent five-year anniversary show in Rīga was a massive success, paving the way for larger concerts and a planned international tour in 2026, alongside the release of new music.
